XIV National Kyudo Seminar  in CDMX

February 22nd and 23rd, 2025

 

 

With the purpose of promoting the teaching of kyudo in Mexico and strengthen the bonds of friendship between kyudoka. The Mexican Kyudo Federation has the honor to invite all national and international dojos and kyudoka to the Annual Kyudo Seminar in Mexico with the presence of sensei Aaron Blackwell (7 Dan Kyoshi), Reiko Blackwell (5 Dan Renshi), and as special guests Maureen Reed sensei (5 Dan Renshi) and Taira Takahash sensei (6 Dan Kyoshi) to conmemorate the XIV edition. 

 

 

Details

Open to all kyudoka who can shoot kinteki (28m.) of all associations and beginner students are welcome.

To have equipment in conditions that guarantee their safety and that of the other participants.

 

Read and Respect the Guidelines and Etiquette inside the dojo.

 

Objective:         The objective of the seminar is to promote and develop Kyudo as        part of the traditional Japanese culture (Budo).

 

Sponsor:            Mexican Kyudo Federation (FMKY)

 

Categories:       All levels and grades are welcome. For beginners it is necessary to know how to enter 5-person taihai and can safely shoot 28m.

 

Eligibility:          Open to members of IKYF affiliated organizations and members of non-affiliated organizations recognized by IKYF.

Clothing: White dogi, hakama, white tabi. Kimono for higher grades.

 

Venue:        Comité Olímpico Mexicano (COM)

                             Horario: 8:00am-6:00pm

*Mexicans send a compile of participants vouchers for each dojo to the Treasurer Jorge Morentin together with an Excel file (not individual).

Cancellations will only be accepted if the organizing committee is informed before February 10, 2025. In case of cancellation after this date, there will be no refund, regardless of the reason for cancellation.

 

Cost:     $2,000 mxn Affiliates of the FMKY Federation (Lunch included)

                $2,500 mxn / $110 USD Not affiliated to FMKY (Lunch included)

Options for accommodation and transport

​

Mexico City is a wonderful but massive city with traffic problems, that is why we recommend to  stay in hotels or Airbnbs in the suggested area (map below) and to use Uber or Lyft as transport. The Airport is 15-19 mins away from the Venue.

We strongly suggest to plan ahead. Google maps or any GPS are a good option to estimate time arrivals.
